Shara Jones definitely shows a remarkable talent for creating a captivating love story with memorable characters. It was very wonderful to see a heroine like Angelyn. A woman who is determined to find her dreams even though she’s been through terrible tragedy. Readers will aspire to be like Angelyn, and they will certainly fall in love with Rick. Don’t we all love a strong, handsome man who’s also a fantastic father? I will definitely be praising the talents of this author to all my friends. Shara Jones is a rising star! |
| Romance Reader at Heart gave TALL, DARK AND DADDY a Top Pick! TALL, DARK AND DADDY is a romance story filled with emotion and likeable characters. The characters were so real I could feel the pain and loneliness that Angelyn and Rick felt. The author's description of Rick made me fall madly in love with him. I was lusting for the man throughout the book, and there were many times I could have slapped Angelyn, because I knew in my heart she was going to lose Rick if she didn't pull down the wall she had built around herself. The banter between Angelyn and Rick was real and wonderful. Little Corey brought me to tears...the poor child, although young, had it rough and wanted a mommy so badly. When be begged Angelyn to marry him and his daddy, and she refused, it broke my heart. I could also relate to Cissy. She reminded me so much of myself. I loved one particular scene in the grocery store; it sounds so much like something I would have done! The bond between Angelyn and Cissy was strong, and Cissy made Angelyn take a good look at what she was doing to herself. The author uses a lot of dialogue and detail that just brought the whole story to life. I loved the way the story builds from the very first page to the last. The description of Rick's house was so vivid, I could smell the bougainvilleas in his garden, smell the blueberry pancakes in the morning, and taste them as they flooded my mouth with flavor. Romance Junkies gave TALL, DARK AND DADDY 4 Blue Ribbons. I was very impressed with this story. Strong characters, an equally strong plot, humor, and plenty of budding love prove to be a winning combination for Shara Jones. Rick and Angelyn are two characters that any reader will emphasize with as their problems are things that are all relatable to real life. This is a contemporary story that manages to make even the most mundane aspects of life new and exciting. I especially loved the scenes where Rick and Angelyn were with Cory as he is a really sweet addition to the story. Sometimes, fictional children can come off as annoying or overly cute, but Shara Jones finds a nice balance in the character of young Cory. FIVE Cups from Coffee Time Romance! This is a story of two characters who face their demons and find that they both want each other and a stable family life. I utterly enjoyed this story for the way Ms. Jones portrayed her characters and the emotional upheaval they suffer, all in the name of love.
